The Washington Times on Barack Obama

The headline: "Black Horse." This headline and radio talk show host Laura Ingraham's recent dissing of John McCain at the Conservative Political Action Conference(CPAC), jogged another newspaper story title from my memory: when Ingraham was on the staff of the Dartmouth Review, a right-wing foundation-funded conservative college papers, one of the editorials was titled, "Dis Sho Ain't No Jive, Bro."

Addendum: I have written about how the Washington Times has attempted to mainstream white supremacist and neo-Confederate thought. One character I haven't mentioned is Bill White, a WT contributing writer. John Gorenfeld has an informative article about him.

UPDATE: BuzzFlash has more.

I think many current followers of Moon are dismayed by the racist views The Washington Times has taken, but they are refusing to see this as somehow being Moon's fault. After all, after giving up most of their lives to try to build Moon's false paradise, where else could they turn now that they are approaching retirement age? So they can't abandon Moon even though Moon has clearly lost control of the Times and is letting it be operated by a conclave of racist fanatics. And it is not even that Moon isn't racist himself; he is in fact convinced of the superiority of Asians and of Koreans in particular; it's just that Moon's racism has nothing to do with the racism that characterizes the beliefs of the Times' editors. And yet Moon has stopped trying to control the Times and is merely content to coast on the praises and plaudits he receives as the founder of a conservative newspaper in a major city. Meanwhile, Moon's followers, especially those few who are African Americans, have no choice but to turn a blind eye to whatever is written in The Washington Times.
