Regnery Publishing's Disgrace

[Note: This blog post is reprinted from the December 16, 2005 edition of Scoobie Davis Online]

David Neiwert has a post on Regnery Publishing's problems with the truth. What is not too well-known is that Regnery has been a conduit for Unification Church propaganda. In 1984, Regnery, then known as Regnery Gateway, published a whitewash of Sun Myung Moon by the then-president of the Unification Church, Mose Durst, titled To Bigotry, No Sanction, Reverend Sun Myung Moon and the Unification Church (the book received fulsome praise from then-publisher of National Review, William A. Rusher). More recently, Regnery published the book Inquisition, Carlton Sherwood's attempt to exculpate Moon regarding his tax evasion conviction. Also, Regnery published Moonie Times operative Bill Sammon's libelous At Any Cost: How Al Gore Tried To Steal the Election.
